Keep projects on track
The unity of concept and management creates
powerful communication in projects
But how dos this actually work?
When we look at projects as a model for motivation and communication we see emotional and rational aspects.
What I want to propose is that the middle ground is the place to develop concepts that best explain the idea. So that the plan can be easily verified (why) and communicated. And so that all people involved can check the idea against the plan, budget, direction, resources, quality, time and resources against the essence of the idea. In that sense is a concept the guardian of ideas.
High-level decisions are emotional and set the direction for life, a company, or a solution. This is where the Why of a project is nurtured. Low-level decisions are rational and focus on practical work to achieve project results. This is where the How of the project happens. Project management; the middle ground, where these two meet, not in conflict, but in a communication center where the “why” is revisited and ideas are reframed within the original concept. And the How is checked. This balance allows emotional drive to fuel practical work, turning ideas into reality.
The middle ground is crucial for developing and communicating the project concept clearly. It ensures that plans are easily verified and that everyone can align their tasks—plans, budgets, directions, and resources—with the core idea. Thus, a concept acts as the guardian of ideas, maintaining their essence throughout the project.
A concept unites dreams, emotions, plans, direction and hard work.
Everything we do is a project!
Project structure | ||
Project stage | The source of these decisions | |
High level decisions | Emotional | The why |
Middle level decisions | Emotional and rational | The how to realize the why, the progress, the budget situation and the quality |
Low level | decisions Rational | The what |
high level decisions are based in ideas and are in essence emotional. These are about the direction of one’s life, company, a solution, a situation. Low level decisions are based on real world work to develop project results. They are rational. The middle ground is not the battleground where emotion and reality fight. This is where reference to the why takes plate and it is the communications center. Were all signals are reappraised, reframed within the boundaries of the original idea. In a way that the emotional driving force energizes the real work to develop an idea into reality.
What I want to propose is that the middle ground is the place to develop concepts that best explain the idea. So that the plan can be easily verified and communicated. And so that all people involved can check their idea, plan, budget, direction, resources, quality, vacation planning against the essence of the idea. In that sense is a concept the guardian of ideas.
